Religion is a giant force of influence to civilization. It seeps through every part of our lives, whether we like it or not, and whether or not we are believers. It is undeniable that it has greatly influenced both artists and designers to create works that either support, or critique religion; and that this relationship between religion and the Creatives has opened up human consciousness in many ways.
Since it is the lenten season in the Catholic faith, here’s a collection of some great works from around the web that are inspired by the Christianity whether in form or in content, and whether they support, or critique the faith. For designers, awareness of the religion and art dialectics, and openness to accept this is key to creating better, more aesthetic, conceptual and effective communication materials. Enjoy the collection!
The web is a goldmine of design knowledge and inspiration. We collected some of the best works we found to keep us designers inspired. Of course, we try to get inspiration from all fields!
